H0 Gauge in Friedrichshafen: Rail Innovation, Leipzig Central Station

This model involves a very special setup and is one of the greatest landmarks in “Rail Innovation”. The model of Leipzig Central Station consists of 14,221 individual laser-cut parts, and the roughly 270 SMDs assure fantastic lighting. The model of the central station – which is the main focus of the project – was built on a scale of 1:87, measures 1380 x 2300 mm and houses 11 tracks. The heart of the layout is a staging yard which can accommodate up to 50 vehicles. The miniaturised city of Leipzig evolved on the central layout. It includes a bus station and the main fire station with 6 gates. Overall distance encompassed by the car system (cars controlled as if by magic) amounts to roughly 90 metres with approximately 60 electrically operated turnoffs and stopping points.
